Art and Nature Pre-Kindergarten Mondays
This hands-on, interdisciplinary tour is an introductory visit to the museum. Students will learn about the world around them through a combination of art, music, poetry, and drama. This fun, interactive experience includes activities and discussions throughout the museum's galleries and gardens. This tour is based on the national VSA arts Start with the Arts curriculum.
The World Around Me Pre-Kindergarten Mondays
This hands-on tour is a fun first visit to the museum. Students will learn about the world around them through a combination of art, music, literature and movement. Children will explore their relationship with animals, plants and the river. This interactive experience includes activities and discussions throughout the galleries, gardens and Art Connections.
Art Through The Senses Pre-Kindergarten Mondays
Children will explore art in The Cummer Collection that celebrates all of our senses including sight, touch, smell and taste. The entire experience at the museum is hands-on and includes studio art projects, storytelling and the use of gallery-based activities to explore still life paintings of peaches, The Cummer gardens, images of music making and watery landscapes.
All About Me: Portraits Pre-Kindergarten Mondays
This visit concentrates on self-discovery through portraiture. Students will view portraits from various cultures and time periods. The exploration of the features of the face as well as clues to feelings through facial expressions will be discussed. Interactive activities in the galleries, play time in Art Connections and a studio activity will reinforce learning.
