Jazz ABZ: Improvisations by Students at S.P. Livingston Elementary School

Event Description:
As part of the Weaver Academy of Art program, a continuing partnership between The Cummer and Duval County Public Schools, 5th grade students in the Exceptional Student Education department of S.P. Livingston Elementary painted jazzy interpretations, collaged cityscapes and created free-form poetry inspired by the Jazz ABZ exhibition.
The students’ inspiration unfolded throughout the six-week project as they painted, danced and created visual compositions while enjoying the music of Miles Davis, Billie Holiday and other Jazz Legends.
